A grand staircase spiraling throughout her decks is one of several eye-catching details inside the yacht Camila. The owner is giving the world a peek beyond her walls just as he’s enjoying his first weeks aboard in the Mediterranean.

The yacht, a Bilgin 163, began on spec as the yacht Project AME. She’s the second in a series, although not a carbon copy. Instead, she has about 20 percent more volume compared to yachts in the similar 163-foot (48-meter) range. Following the contract signing in 2023, the owner, his representatives, and the Hot Lab design studio spent a lot of time finessing the details.

The owner wanted a combination of timeless grace and sophistication with modern appeal. According to Enrico Lumini, Hot Lab’s partner and head of design, it was simultaneously important to tap into the skills of Bilgin Yachts’ craftspeople. “We wanted to strike a delicate balance between warmth and sophistication,” he explains. “This is the second 50-meter yacht we have developed for Bilgin. Building on our longstanding collaboration, this project represents a natural evolution of the design established for the shipyard.”

Materials like polished metals and luxurious textiles help lend an air of elegance. Soothing natural wood tones and an abundance of sunlight spilling into open—and open-concept—areas effectively set a serene mood, too. Staterooms, including the main-deck master suite, might seem simple, with crisp, clean bed linens. However, they’re not simplistic. Rather, the beauty is understated, purposely to lull the owner and guests to restful sleep.

Still, though, some features throughout Camila might very well become the most-talked-about décor highlights. For instance, hundreds of glass leaves make up a dramatic custom chandelier in the main foyer. Furthermore, the chandelier is massive, nearly 20 feet (6 meters) long. On the same deck, the formal dining area has an onyx-topped table, with another dramatic chandelier enhancing the ambience.

“I am grateful to work with an experienced yacht owner who was heavily involved with her design process with Hot Lab,” notes Frank Frzesczak of FGI Group, the owner’s representative. “The interiors have been described as a beautiful, a bespoke homage to the owner’s lifestyle. and elegantly designed elements inside and outside made her a stunning yacht.”
