With three months to go before it’s complete, the refit of the yacht Mirabella at Mengi Yay is already revealing some of her new looks.

Mengi Yay’s Reviva Refit division is performing the work. Although Mengi Yay officially announced Reviva Refit in 2024, it has been performing refits since 2015. In fact, the yacht Mirabella will be its 15th redelivery since 2017. The 157-footer (47.9-meter arrived at the yard midway through September of last year. The Reviva Refit team hauled her in the beginning of October and is on pace to hand her over on April 15.

The yacht Mirabella has passed through a few owners and undergone regular service over 20-plus years. A Trinity from 2004, she further underwent a significant redesign and refit more than a decade ago. Her current owner acquired her in May of last year. The owner and Rob Dolling, the founder and CEO of Verpeka Dolling Superyachts, got down to business quickly in terms of what changes should take place. Dolling is serving as the owner’s representative and technical manager.

Ultimately, packing her checklist into approximately six and a half months is a tall order. The scope includes a full repaint, for instance. It additionally includes extensive electrical work, ranging from upgrades to rewiring. Some electrical tasks involve the A/V systems, while the rest involves the alfresco deck lighting and interior lighting for practical and aesthetic purposes. Furthermore, a host of aesthetic and lifestyle modifications are occurring inside and out. For example, some varnished woodwork inside on furnishings and on walls had turned cloudy. (This type of discoloration does sometimes occur in the highly humid marine environment.) The joinery craftspeople therefore have been stripping and sanding down the wood to prep it for new protective layers. Out on deck, meanwhile, the yacht Mirabella is getting a new custom hot tub. The owner and guests will also have new seating areas and a transformer section of the swim platform to use.

Once the refit wraps up, Mirabella should return to chartering. Four of her staterooms feature king beds, while a twin cabin has a pullman.
