Although few details are available so far, an American is one of the newest customers for Tankoa Yachts. Following several conversations, a Tankoa T720 Fenice yacht is under contract.
If “Fenice” sounds familiar, it’s likely because Tankoa revealed a T680 Fenice yacht series (below) a few years ago. The word comes from Teatro La Fenice, a famous opera house in Venice, Italy that is additionally one of the most famous theaters in the entire country. Its extraordinary design details and equally extraordinary world premieres inspired Tankoa Yachts and Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design to create the series.
Notably, the Tankoa T720 Fenice yacht is related. “The project started out from our T680 Fenice project, but it developed into something even more sophisticated,” says Claudio Corvino, the yard’s sales and business-development manager. The owner had multiple personal requests and “very clear ideas in mind,” Corvino adds, for the look and feel. Ultimately, a fully custom megayacht made the most sense.
Bearing “subtle details throughout,” according to Corvino, the yacht features interior design by Giorgio Cassetta. Although no other specifics are available, the project likely features six staterooms for 12 people in the owner’s party.
Delivery is scheduled for 2030. More informationi may become available as construction progresses.
In the meantime, this superyacht represents the first joint project for Tankoa Yachts and the Gobbi design studio to start construction. Simultaneously, once she’s in the water, she’ll be Tankoa’s second flagship. Currently, the 226-foot Casino Royale has those honors. She saw delivery in 2018 as the yacht Solo.
