Code-named as the yacht Ace 21 during construction, the yacht Odisea has bid goodbye to Lürssen. Warmer-weather destinations are in her future, given some of her most prominent amenities.
A 257-footer, the yacht may seem on the smaller side for the shipyard. Lürssen is, after all, known for multiple super-size superyachts, such as the 384-foot Boardwalk, currently completing construction. However, it has delivered more than 20 custom yachts up to about 262 feet since 2000. In fact, Lürssen says the total represents nearly one-third of all its deliveries in that same timeframe.

Further noteworthy, the yacht Odisea is the first project where the German shipyard and British design studio RWD have joined forces. The studio handled both styling and interior design. Although the exterior lines are restrained, a particularly visually arresting area is aft on the main deck. Here, the owner wanted a glass-wrapped lounge that becomes an alfresco lounge, due to being much more open-air than many. Specifically, RWD and Lürssen designed and engineered the ability to have 10-foot-wide sliding-glass doors aft and to each side. The lounge, a.k.a. the Beach House, will become the place to sit and enjoy the views in privacy, host large groups, and more. Conveniently, it further becomes somewhat of a pool lounge, given the swimming pool on the aft deck as well. It’s sunken into the deck and surrounded with glass walls, with teak rails.
The megayacht has additional areas where guests will enjoy warm, sunny days and comfortable evenings. She has two alfresco cinemas, for instance. Her foredeck makes her a floating sports arena, too. Pickleball and basketball are on the agenda – as are less-strenuous but no-less-enjoyable yoga and pilates sessions. Finally, while owners and guests of many yachts use the sundeck only during the day, the owner of the yacht Odisea intends it to be an all-day and all-night retreat. From accommodating cocktails and meals for 20 to having a hot tub similar in design to the main-deck pool, and from having a firepit to becoming an enclosed lounge, it’s quite versatile.
Envisioned as a home on the sea, the yacht features soothing, warm colors throughout the interior, including natural-toned woods and pale-toned marbles. Organic textures and a purposeful lack of superfluities keep a consistent, welcoming feel from room to room. Of course, the owner also has special art throughout.
Bearing plenty of watersports gear for diving and fishing, the yacht Odisea is currently heading to London. Her immediate plans following that aren’t public.
