You’re about a month away from being able to board the first Infynito 80 yacht from Ferretti Yachts. Amplifying its entry-level megayacht market offerings, the model has a leisure-enhancing foredeck design that doesn’t look like anything else in her size range.
The design is the All-Season Terrace (below) that debuted aboard the first Infynito project, the Infynito 90. It’s a covered area, but with louvered overhead panels to let in light. Encompassing 140 square feet (13 square meters), it lets you and guests enjoy alfresco living without full sun. It further lends you a little more privacy while you’re doing so. Plus, it has a lowering window that connects aft to the galley. Since the yacht is about 78 feet (24 meters) in length, these are all pleasantly surprising features.
The All-Season Terrace is just one of the exterior details from Filippo Salvetti and the Ferretti Yachts engineering and design teams. Another is a choice of an entirely open or partially open sundeck. The first Infynito 80 has a fully open space. This doesn’t mean no respite from the sun, however. A hardtop lends the shade most people want directly over the dining area, along with the helm. This allows freestanding furniture like sunlounges to sit aft for those of you who want to bask in the rays.
Inside, Ideaitalia has created a calming mood, picking up the colors of the sea. The tones and textures are consistent from the main deck to the lower deck. In keeping with Ferretti Yachts’ goal of being more environmentally friendly, natural fabrics, recycled leather, and recyclable materials are aboard. So is lamella teak, which sees layers of teak held together via glue. It has approval from the Forestry Stewardship Council, a non-profit that certifies sustainable choices. Since the All Season Terrace occupies the main deck, the owners’ stateroom joins three guest cabins below decks. Two crew cabins—for a total of three people—are below decks, too.
Since different engine options are available, the first Infynito 80 has the optional, more powerful MAN package. They should permit a maximum 22 knots, whereas the standard MANs promise 20 knots. Regardless, best range should come at 10 knots, a total of 1,200 nautical miles. Ferretti Yachts developed a fast-displacement hull form for the megayacht, making her more efficient throughout the full speed range. Yet another important efficiency tool is an energy bank storing electricity from solar panels on the hardtop and the All-Season Terrace.
If you’re attending the Cannes Yachting Festival, you can book a personal tour to better gauge how the sheer amount of alfresco space suits your cruising lifestyle.
