Blackjack players know they have a winning hand the moment an ace and either a face card or a 10 card come off the deck. The owner of the new yacht Ace 21 had luck on his side on May 27. The nearly complete superyacht emerged from her outfitting shed at Lürssen straight into strong winds and light rain, which gradually eased as the transfer neared completion. By the time she was fully floating on her lines and nearly in her final position, blue skies and sun shone above.
A 256-footer (78-meter), the project has remained under tight wraps since the contract signing a few years ago. The names of neither the stylist nor the interior designer are available publicly, for instance.
The handful of facts known to date come from the visible features. The yacht Ace 21 is five decks high, for instance, with primarily enclosed spaces. Alfresco areas benefit from good shade, meanwhile, thanks to the overhangs of decks above them.
Where alfresco spaces are fully in the open, though, the owner and guests will be treated to uninterrupted views. Glass wraps around the aft portions of a few of the decks, for example, instead of traditional rails. Loose furniture likely will be arranged on some of those same levels to invite guests to take a seat while taking in the sights. On the uppermost deck, yacht Ace 21 has a glass-faced pool, or possibly a hot tub, nestled against the aft edge. Three levels down on the main deck, meanwhile, a much larger, longer pool is partially elevated. What appear to be barstools that eventually will be submerged are forward, too, perhaps facing a bar.
Delivery should take place this year.
