The flagship of the Altura lineup from Ferretti Yachts, the 840 is intended to be a floating villa. Judging from how her Italian build and design teams laid her out, it’s no wonder. The wide-open main saloon, outfitted in light fabrics and teak paneling, is unlike anything else in this size range, as is the balcony-like pilothouse. Large windows bring plenty of light into both areas. Speaking of windows, the expanse of glass below decks in the master suite floods the room with light. The three guest staterooms, also below decks, have good-size ports, too. Then there’s an abundance of alfresco seating, sunning, and dining options, from the main aft deck to the foredeck and on up to the flying bridge. Capable of a reported 30-knot top end, the Ferretti Altura 840 is one megayacht that makes for an ideal entertaining platform.
