Eight months after announcing the 100-foot (30.5-meter) Electra series, IAG Yachts has launched the first megayacht to be part of it.
Megayacht News broke the news that IAG Yachts was introducing a second superyacht, Electra, last April. Its first yacht, you may recall, was Primadonna, part of a 127-foot (38.8-meter) series.
The Electra series shares the same design team as Primadonna, that being Andrea Nicolai and YD&AS. The emphasis is on sleek styling within a raised-pilothouse package. Inside, there’s a formal dining room separate from the saloon, something rarely seen in a yacht of this LOA. All guest accommodations, including the owner’s suite, are below decks. Both the owner and the VIP staterooms are full beam, a nice touch. A further nice touch, this time for the crew: walk-around decks.
IAG Yachts is still finishing the interior and conducting sea trials over the next several weeks. It expects the 100-foot Electra to see a 27-knot top speed, given twin MTU M93s. While range should be a respectable 900 nautical miles at 21 knots, the megayacht will make the most of lonr-range cruising at just 10 knots: 2,000 nautical miles.
The owner of the first 100-foot Electra, from China, will permit IAG Yachts to display the yacht at major boat shows throughout the spring. For more on this specific model, visit IAG Yachts’ website or fill out our contact form.
