With a few months to go before its first 120 debuts, Ocean Alexander has introduced a 112 Tri-Level Motoryacht as a new model.
Ocean Alexander turned to Gregory C. Marshall for naval architecture and Evan K. Marshall for styling and interior design. The 112 Tri-Level is being built of fiberglass to meet the Marshall Islands’ commercial yacht code, MI-103, which outlines safety and manning requirements. She’ll also comply with RINA charter classification.
The 112-foot (34.1-meter) megayacht has a beam of 24’6” (29.67 meters), and the 6’3” (1.9-meter) draft at half load should permit pulling into a number of anchorages. Ocean Alexander also wanted the megayacht to have a good turn of speed. Twin 1,920-hp MTUs are standard, with 2,250-hp MTUs being optional. Top speeds either way should be about 24 knots.
Inside, the Ocean Alexander 112 Tri-Level’s general arrangement provides the customary main-deck master suite occupying the full beam. Accommodations for eight guests plus four to six crewmembers (depending on final configuration) are below decks. Alfresco and formal interior dining areas are also aboard. A games table in the skylounge should provide fun diversions, though the owner and guests will likely spend most of their time outside. The bar just outside of the skylounge, on the large boat deck, is one spot certain to get good use. It’s in proximity to a hot tub, too.
Since engineering and tooling are complete, Ocean Alexander anticipates the first 112 Tri-Level to debut at the Fort Lauderdale show in 2014.
UPDATE, AUGUST 8, 2012: The Ocean Alexander 112 will bear interior design by Genesis Yachtline, a firm with more than a decade’s worth of experience in manufacturing luxury interiors. The company is headquartered in Pisa, Italy.
Construction of the Ocean Alexander 112 is taking place in Asia.
