The Spanish shipyard Astondoa finally has stateside representation. Miami-based G Marine is handling sales for North, Central, and South America.
Astondoa, founded in 1916, is family-run. The third generation is currently at the helm. Astondoa builds a variety of motoryachts. They range from open and flying-bridge production boats to megayachts of 197 feet (60 meters). Both fiberglass and steel are used for construction, depending on the model. Buyers can tailor the yachts to their tastes as well.
G Marine has already sold several Astondoa projects, including two megayachts, since its representation began last fall. The two megayachts are both new builds, too. One is an Astondoa 80 GLX. Pictured above, the 80 GLX measures 81’8” (24.92 meters) with a 19’7” (6-meter) beam. Meant for sporty performance, she hits a reported 31-knot top end with the standard MAN engines. Cruise speed with that engine package should be around 26 knots. Best range should come around 23 to 24 knots: 450 nautical miles.
In combination with Cristiano Gatto Design, the owner of the Astondoa 80 GLX is selecting a variety of woods and other decor items. While G Marine hasn’t revealed them, the megayacht will have a four-stateroom layout below decks. This includes the master stateroom.
The other megayacht that G Marine secured for Astondoa is a 110 GLX. She’s a custom project, though still sporty like the other GLX yachts. Some of the key differences: a main-deck master suite, four equal-size staterooms below decks, and a big sunning and dining spot on the foredeck. Expect to see fold-down balconies off the saloon, too.
Later this year will see the delivery of both the Astondoa 110 GLX and Astondoa 80 GLX. In the meantime, a dedicated Astondoa USA website is in development.
