The 161-foot (49-meter) Aurora is stylish, sporty—and surprising. All three are due to the collaboration among Rossinavi, designer Fulvio di Simoni, and, of course, the owner.
The megayacht, initially announced under the code name Longitude 47, didn’t surprise anyone when she grew from 47 to 49 meters (153 to 161 feet). But, her profile put all on notice that Aurora would be anything other than traditional. Dramatic cut-outs surround her bow, with additionally dramatic openings aft on the main and upper decks. More unusual architecture awaits in the arcs rising from the aft main deck to the sundeck overhang. Even the choice of di Simoni made yacht watchers sit up and take notice. He has joined forces with a number of prominent yacht builders over the years, yet not Rossinavi until this project.
Unfortunately, the the video footage here only provides views of Aurora from the outside. It will be a few short weeks before we can reveal the interior, which keeps the surprises coming. For instance, the owner requested several staterooms on the main deck. Two VIPs situated here have fold-down balconies. Of course, the master suite is on the main deck, too, benefitting from panoramic views out over the bow. Inviting the guests to unwind even more, Aurora has a saloon off the beach club. Fittingly, the room earned the nickname the Aurora beach saloon. Not to be left out, the main and upper decks each have saloons as well.
If you’re attending the Monaco Yacht Show this coming week, you may be able to secure an appointment to tour the megayacht. If not, wait for our official Megayacht News Onboard feature to learn more.
