The displacement megayachts from Mangusta continue to attract buyers. The Overmarine Group celebrated the launch of yet another Mangusta Oceano 43 this week in Italy. She has joined a family in which four hulls have launched in just two years.
Even though most Mangustas on the water are maxi yachts, the shipyard started hearing alternate requests from customers a few years back. They wanted to enjoy more long-range travel, which of course goes hand in hand with more fuel-efficient travel. In collaborating with its design and engineering partners, the Group created a series of displacement yachts with steel hulls and aluminum superstructures. The first Mangusta Oceano 43. Namastè, premiered in 2016, with American customers getting their first looks at her during last fall’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
This newest Mangusta Oceano 43 has similar sporty styling, as well as a bulbous bow. (The photo immediately above is a sistership, since the new launch has not yet done sea trials.) She should see a top speed of 15 knots under MTU power, as well as range upwards of 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots. That is plenty to cross oceans, should the owners so wish. They wouldn’t be the first Mangusta customers to do so. In fact, the owner of the first Mangusta Oceano 54 was onboard for an ocean crossing around Christmastime.
While we don’t yet know what special design features are onboard, the Mangusta Oceano 43 series offers up to four guest staterooms below decks, as well as the master on the main deck. The owners also benefit from some attractive alfresco spaces. The Mangusta Oceano 43 includes a welcoming seating/dining area on the foredeck, adjacent to an infinity pool, for instance. The megayacht additionally has a beach club. These, along with a hardtop-shaded seating and dining area on the flying bridge, come from stylist Alberto Mancini.
