By Christmastime, you could be the owner of hull number eight in the Mulder ThirtySix yacht series. You’ll also be the first customer to enjoy living and entertaining amid an enriched interior design from a studio whose work lends an elevated aesthetic, yet remains practical for young families.

The Mulder ThirtySix semi-custom series includes deliveries like Seaflower, Calypso, and Solemates. The first 118-footer (36-meter) saw delivery in 2017. Presently, hull number seven is nearing completion, alongside hull number eight at an earlier stage. (On a related side note, hull seven will debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this autumn.) All of this works out to a delivery pace of about one per year, showing how successful the series is.
The last few deliveries in the series have featured interior designs by Vickers Studio. Although Mulder Shipyard has enjoyed working with the British firm, it wanted to do something new for the currently available hull eight. That’s why it chose Roelfien Vos, a Dutch designer whose work graces fine homes, hospitality projects, and yachts. In fact, the studio collaborated previously with Mulder for an anniversary edition of its popular Favorite 1700 powerboat series.

Vos, who heads an international team, operates under the philosophy that “luxury doesn’t need to shout,” in her words. Additionally, she says, she likes to incorporate small surprises in every corner of a room, providing clients with a way to take a journey through a design.
From lighting design to materials like oak, marble, backlit glass, leather, and rattan all building upon each other, hull eight of the Mulder ThirtySix yacht has an elegant ambience. Simultaneously, Vos says, her team selects fabrics that can stand up to typical child-related challenges like sticky fingers. This applies in each of the four guest staterooms, including two doubles (below) and two convertible VIPs. It’s also true in the saloon and skylounge. To still appeal to the adults aboard, Vos has created a bar area to separate the saloon from the formal dining area. And, of course, the Mulder ThirtySix still has a main-deck, full-beam master suite.

Roelfien Vos’ elevated design pairs with a new grey paint job outside, too. The asking price is €23 million (about $24.9 million at press time).
