Capitalizing on rising interest among some yacht buyers, Mulder Shipyard is building hull number two of the Mulder ThirtySix series on spec. The 118-footer can be in the water, with your configuration and decor preferences, in 2018.
Though hull number one is still under construction, Mulder Shipyard feels the all-aluminum series is a strong draw. In fact, the series grew out of interest in Solis, a 111-footer. An existing Mulder owner took a friend aboard Solis, which launched in 2015. The yacht’s intimacy and family-friendly feel resulted in the friend commissioning the first ThirtySix. She’s set for delivery this summer.
Similarly, the spec Mulder ThirtySix can have family-friendly spaces. You can request that two of the four guest staterooms below decks become instead one large VIP, for example. You can also request a private alfresco area for your stateroom. The master benefits from the 26-foot beam, since it’s forward on the main deck. Furthermore, you can turn the sundeck into an all-day relaxation zone. An eight-person hot tub can get surrounded by sunpads. You can put a dining table up here, too. Don’t fret over breezy days, though. A windscreen forward should keep table linens from blowing around.
The Mulder ThirtySix comes with full-height glass, making the ambiance you choose more welcoming. Sliding-glass doors to starboard in the dining area should make dinners more special. There’s further a fold-down balcony. You and your guests can retire to the saloon for after-dinner drinks, thanks to a bar. The next day, hit the watertoys, which can hold two PWCs plus a primary tender, as well as kayaks and more. Charter guests can do the same on their trips, since the Mulder ThirtySix meets MCA requirements. Displacing less than 300 gross tons, she’s also meeting Lloyds’ LY3 regulations.
A set engineering platform and the patented Fast Displacement Hull Form from Van Oossanen Naval Architects promise a 15-knot top speed.
