The last day of May saw Mengi Yay hull number 111 launch in Tuzla, Turkey. Her owners have christened the yacht Cabana, evoking images of sunny days along sandy beaches in warmly private company.

The yacht Cabana is the first hull in the Atlante Classic 35 series, which Atlante Yachts created with Mengi Yay. Atlante Yachts offers consultancy, design, engineering, specification creation, build supervision, and project management. It directs clients to different shipyards depending on the type of yacht they want, for example, plus their budget and other parameters. The team has a good working relationship with Mengi Yay, with more than one megayacht underway there.
The semi-custom Atlante Classic 35 yacht series is for luxurious exploring. For instance, she accommodates a party of 10, and the interior has an air of contemporary refinement. Abundant Italian materials and fabrics appear throughout, too. “The exterior design presents a contemporary interpretation of a full-displacement explorer yacht,” according to Paolo Dose, VYD Studio’s head of design. VYD Studio handled both exterior styling and interior design. As for performance, even at her 11-knot cruising speed, she should exceed a range of 4,000 nautical miles. Arrabito Naval Architects engineered her to cover long distances with Volvo Penta propulsion. The studio additionally planned for an impressive 10,567 gallons (40,000 liters) of fuel.

Initially, the Northern European owners of the yacht Cabana wanted a 108-footer (33-meter) whose volume was less than 300 gross tons. “Months of intensive work,” Dose says, led to an LOA of 113 feet (34.5 meters), volume of 330 gross tons, and the final exterior style and interior design. “We are proud to have supported the owners at every stage of this build,” Dose continues. “We will continue to provide assistance beyond delivery.”
“Cabana is one of the most distinctive results of our successful collaboration with VYD Studio,” asserts Hüseyin Mengi, Chairman of the Board at Mengi Yay Yachts. He further says, “We strongly believe that our partnership with Atlante Yachts will continue for many more years to come.”

The shipyard will hand over Cabana in time for the owners to enjoy a few weeks of summertime Med cruising. In the meantime, hull number two of the Atlante Classic 35 series is also in build. Still available for sale through Atlante Yachts, she’ll be ready in early 2027.
