European owners have just taken delivery of the yacht Cabana in Turkey. Their summer plans include cruising the waters of their home continent. Their “incredible involvement” has led to a special relationship that the main contributors are looking forward to deepening in the coming months and years.
Having launched in late May at Mengi Yay Yachts, the project is an Atlante Classic 35, a semi-custom design. She’s a compact long-range cruiser, 113 feet (34.5 meters) with a surprising volume of 330 gross tons. “The exterior design presents a contemporary interpretation of a full-displacement explorer yacht,” says Paolo Dose, head of design for VYD Studio. Just as surprising as the volume she should exceed a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. Arrabito Naval Architects engineered her to cover these long distances with Volvo Penta propulsion. The studio additionally planned for an impressive 10,567 gallons (40,000 liters) of fuel.

These advantages really appealed to the owners, who are from northern Europe. They were pretty hands-on throughout the design and build process, too. In fact, Dose thanks them “for their incredible involvement and with whom we have forged a beautiful partnership.” Dose additionally says he and his team will remain in touch with the owners “long after Cabana leaves on her maiden voyage.”
Some of the highlights of the collaboration include accommodations for 10 people across five staterooms. The staterooms and the rest of the leisure and entertainment areas aboard intend friends and family to feel calm and content. Italian marbles, fabrics, and other materials in subdued tones create a contemporary ambience. Simultaneously, just like a beach cabana, the yacht Cabana shelters everyone from the sun while letting them soak up the sea’s natural appeal.

“Cabana is the result of a successful collaboration, hard work, and mutual trust,” notes Hüseyin Mengi, Mengi Yay Yachts’ chairman.
Yet another Atlante Classic 35 is underway at the shipyard. Specifically, the project is hull number two in the series, and is under construction on spec. Completion is set for early 2027.
