A French shipyard with 50 years’ experience behind it is launching further into the megayacht market—more to the point, the multihull megayacht market. Through its relationship with Fraser Yachts, Fountaine Pajot Yachts intends to find a buyer for the first FPY 120 yacht, especially an American.
Fountaine Pajot Yachts dates to 1976, when two competitive sailors established the yard outside of La Rochelle, France. It remains there today, delivering sailing and power catamarans to global clients. The builder partnered with Fraser Yachts last year to drive worldwide sales especially for its entry into the multihull megayacht market, the FPY 110 Power. A similarly arranged sailing-yacht version became available, too. Both bear naval architecture and styling by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, itself with deep roots. In fact, the studio has 40 years of experience in multihulls, besides designing monohull motoryachts and sailing yachts.
Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design has created the profile and engineering for the FPY 120 yacht, too. A trideck, she offers 6,458 square feet (600 square meters) of space. It extends from guest staterooms in the hulls to the flying bridge’s combination of indoor and outdoor areas.

Although Fountaine Pajot Yachts is giving buyers complete freedom to arrange rooms as they wish, a few suggestions are available. For instance, the main saloon can be an all-afternoon, indoor-outdoor lounge, much like how many owners like to live on the water. Additionally, it can be a combination lounge and dining space. The beam of 48’7” (14.81 meters) makes the area look and feel ample. Skylights can brighten the skylounge, and combinations of large windows and opening hatches welcome more sunlight inside other areas. Yet another recommendation is a full-beam master suite, boasting multiple views of the ocean. In total, four to six staterooms are available, as are cabins for eight crew and the captain.
Depending on buyers’ desires, the FPY 120 yacht can meet commercial Bureau Veritas classification requirements. Delivery could also take place in 2028.
Fountaine Pajot Yachts and Fraser Yachts are keeping most other details close to the vest for now. However, and worth additional note, a sailing-yacht version with the same dimensions is listed on Fountaine Pajot’s website as a possibility to commission.
