Sport yachts that look as fast as they perform remain popular. So, too, do rugged, explorer-esque superyachts. But, not everyone wants a super-sleek or super-aggressive style. Tureddi Yachts believes those who prefer traditional looks and ways of living at sea will appreciate the Tureddi Calypso 38M yacht.
Tureddi Yachts, previously a hull and superstructure contractor and now a builder, prides itself on offering fully custom construction. The Tureddi Calypso 38M yacht is a proposal, created with 3 Studio for styling and interior design, to get a conversation going. She’s a 127-footer (39-meter) with flexible arrangement options that cater to today’s multi-generational cruising families. She further has a proven hull form from Ruggiero Naval Architects, lending peace of mind for venturing to popular and slightly off-track regions alike.

Timeless profile elements like a high bow, a pronounced chine, and mahogany caprails immediately call out to classicists. So, too, do options to dine alfresco on the main aft deck and under the shade of the hardtop. Yet, mindful of modern owners’ and guests’ evolving preferences, the Tureddi Calypso 38M yacht has an infinity hot tub on the uppermost deck. There’s also a firepit aft on the bridge deck just below, making the big lounge rimming the deck a day-to-night conversation area.
Simultaneously timeless are the configurations for family and friends throughout the interior. For instance, the master suite has a prime position forward on the main deck. All guests are accommodated below decks, in four staterooms. Handy pullman berths in the two twin cabins provide extra beds when the kids can invite their own friends, or similar-aged cousins want to stay up all night. Even the suggested décor harkens to tradition. Echoing her name, the Tureddi Calypso 38M yacht has Caribbean-inspired design details like rattan ceilings. Pale woods and tropical wall treatments reveal the theme, too. Overall, it’s effectively striking and sophisticated without being formal. In fact, Tureddi Yachts likens the look to barefoot luxury.

Rounding out the modern lifestyle appeal, the megayacht can carry a handful of SeaBobs and waterbikes, as well as a tender to about 14 feet (4.35 meters).
Thanks to the steel hull’s design, the project should top out at 16 knots. Covering long distances should be no issue, either, given an expected range of 4,000 nautical miles. Tureddi Yachts intends to build the Calypso 38M yacht to RINA classification standards as well.

In related news, Tureddi Yachts signed a contract at the just-concluded Palm Beach International Boat Show. It’s for what the yard calls a Fully Custom TD27, bearing styling and interior design by 3 Studio. No further details on LOA or design features are available.
