UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 27, 2025: Project Agnetha has sold to a client in the Middle East. Read on for our original article.
There’s nothing quite like experiencing a sea trial. There’s also nothing quite like experiencing a sea trial on the North Sea. Even this time of year, the waters can be choppy, sending bows pitching and white water up across high wheelhouse windows. The Heesen Yachts team experienced this during the recent sea trials for Project Agnetha—and you’re about to get a look at what it was like.
You might think that builders and naval architects prefer calm conditions to test the engines and other systems. However, winds and whitecaps can actually do some good. They let the teams see how well the hull handles in a not-uncommon situation for their customers, for instance. The conditions were stormier than that when the sea trials for Project Agnetha took place. Judging from the smile on the face of yard CCO Ruud van der Stroom, though, she came through with flying colors.
In fact, still available for delivery this summer, the the 180-foot (55-meter) superyacht confirmed her expected 15½-knot top speed. Best range should exceed 4,000 nautical miles, meanwhile, at a cruise of 13 knots.
Although Heesen doesn’t give you a peek inside, the yacht Project Agnetha features the work of Luca Dini’s studio. Significantly, it includes not just a main-deck master with a balcony, but also a bridge-deck VIP suite. Four more cabins sit below decks, as you would expect. Additionally, the design team created a warm, welcoming, and somewhat traditional interior design. This was purposely to appeal to a wide variety of buyers. Of course, more personalized details are possible, either with Luca Dini and his team or a designer of your choice.
One of the nicest aspects of the design is the fact that it results from direct feedback from owners of other Heesens, along with their captains. For instance, the glass bringing lots of sunlight into the dining area lacks mullions.
The megayacht is available for €56.9 million (about $65 million at press time).
