The technology comes from a longstanding yachting supplier partnering with a company whose experience extends to the famed Sphere in Las Vegas. Van Berge Henegouwen (VBH) is the former, with a long history of creative, state-of-the-art tech installations on superyachts. It has teamed with Prismax, a company specializing in virtual experiences and set design. In fact, Prismax has produced Unity at the Sphere, along with Expo 2020 Dubai’s multiple immersive experiences.
Here’s how it works. Pick any room, ranging from the gym to the saloon, even the elevator foyer (above). Immersia combines ultra-high-definition microLED video walls with sound, air flow, scent, and synchronized vibration. Altogether, they create the environment of your choice. So, for instance, your spa can instantly become a tranquil rainforest, perhaps with a waterfall in the distance. Your gym, meanwhile, can transport yoga enthusiasts to a quiet forest where the treetops continue stretching far up past the ceiling. When you’re in the mood for fun, Immersia takes you to the streets of Tokyo or New York (top). Yet another option: Surround yourself in a starry universe for dancing in the skylounge (below).
Regardless of what you want to experience, VBH tailors the installation to your room’s architecture. Simultaneously, Immersia blends into the existing design, rather than detracting from it. “It allows people to reshape their world, turning any space into an environment that inspires, calms, or excites,” notes Joris Corthout, Prismax’s CEO.
