What You Need to Know, Without the Fluff
My favorite news sites and magazines offer daily or weekly digest emails. Many are quite good. Others holding promise, though, lose me soon enough because they make a broad, flawed assumption: We’re short-on-time, short-attention-span readers.
Yes, we lead busy lives. But that doesn’t mean we have the focus of a gnat. Quality journalism and insights still rank well above superficial stories and fluff. Your own habits prove it: Our reader surveys year after year earn us 8s and 9s on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of doing a better job than other yachting sites.
So, what if we produced a valuable weekly roundup bringing our best directly to your inbox? You can still visit megayachtnews.com, but the email will show you instantly what you missed and let you click immediately to it.
If you’re interested, email me. I’ll personally get you set up.
Superyacht Selections: RLVNT Eyewear

Eight years ago, two friends who were passionate about fishing and the great outdoors were frustrated by the lack of quality sunglasses. While polarized options abounded, they still required taking off or adjusting position to read a fishfinder, chartplotter, or even a smartphone. Since the two worked in the optics industry, they leveraged experience gained in manufacturing for the U.S. Navy and came up with RLVNT.
RLVNT is for outdoor enthusiasts, by outdoor enthusiasts, with 15 different frames for men and women. It makes all its offeriings in Minnesota. Besides its glasses being lightweight and shatter-resistant, RLVNT has lenses that block blue light. What’s more, RLVNT says it’s the only company with high-reflection mirror coatings that allow lenses that darken automatically to adapt to lighting conditions. A total of eight mirror coatings plus simple brown and grey lenses are available.
People in Superyachting: Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke

Who better than a sailor to take the helm of one of the most famous bluewater sailing-yacht shipyards? Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke is the new CEO of Oyster Yachts effective September 1, and you can meet him at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Zimmermann Zschocke’s business background spans companies such as Rolls-Royce Power Solutions and Aston Martin, where he worked on the cars’ engines and powertrains. In his private life, he’s a longtime sailor as well as a competitive sailor. Those passions pair well with the 16-month, 27,000-mile Oyster World Rally and the Oyster Explorers Club, which affords access to extraordinary sailing voyages.
“Oyster yachts are, to me, the embodiment of a sailing dream,” Zimmermann Zschocke says.
