Bull Owners Bullish Over Canados Oceanic 76 GT

“A superyacht in a small-boat package.” Those are the words of the couple who own Bull, the first Oceanic 76 GT built by Canados.

Having owned five previous yachts, they are familiar with what can and can’t be done within given time limits. In fact, the husband admits he and his wife doubted Bull could be delivered within the promised period. They signed the contract in March, one month after construction started. Bull was delivered on August 1, one day into a 12-day overtime allowance. The build period included change orders, too. The husband told the Canados craftspeople at delivery, “Today, I can say that we both can’t believe what we see. The respect of the delivery time, the incredible quality in the smallest details is beyond expectations! We are, today, very proud to be part of the Canados family.”

This entry-level model of the Oceanic Yachts explorer series is meant for simplified maintenance and operations, plus stability at sea. Canados uses composite construction, with Aramat fabric, a Kevlar-fiberglass hybrid, in the superstructure. It also incorporates a “Displaning” stepped hull, combining qualities of displacement and planing designs. Bull therefore should be as comfortable at low speeds, where fuel economy occurs, as she is at 16- to 20-knot cruising speeds. The twin 1,150-hp Caterpillars also reportedly permit a top speed of 25 knots. And, Canados says Seakeeper stabilizers should prevent Bull from rolling in a 6’6” (2-meter) swell.

While Bull has three staterooms below decks, the Oceanic 76 GT alternately has a four-cabin configuration here. The owners also chose a closed galley for the main deck. American buyers should gravitate toward the other layout option. It sees the galley stay open to the saloon, for a more relaxed ambiance. Regardless, guests get to enjoy alfresco dining on the aft deck. And, the wheelhouse allows interaction when wanted and privacy when needed, due to positioning up a few steps.
