Turkey-based RMK Marine is putting the finishing touches on the RMK 4500, which launched earlier this month.
If the 148-foot (45-meter) motoryacht looks somewhat familiar, it’s because she was inspired by Marco Polo, a similar-size Transocean Explorer Yacht that Cheoy Lee built about four years ago. Both projects bear naval architecture by Ron Holland.
The RMK 4500 emphasizes ocean-crossing capabilities and efficient fuel economy, thanks in part to a bulbous bow. Of course, twin 650-hp Caterpillar C32 diesel engines aid as well. They should permit a 14-knot top end and 12-knot cruising speed.
The RMK 4500 was conceived to entertain parties of 12 either on private trips or charters. To that end, Design Unlimited created an Asian-inspired decor that’s said to be soothing. Specifically, the design team selected elements typical of Japan and Thailand. You’ll find crisp, light shoji screens striking a strong contrast against dark wenge wood. White grooved overheads, gold-leaf stencils, silks, and even shagreen (untanned leather with a granular-like texture) are used as well. The decorative elements are found everywhere from the upper-deck owner’s suite to the main-deck VIP stateroom and below-decks guest cabins. A crew of 11 are accommodated as well.
The Lloyds-classed RMK 4500 is available for sale, for €19 million (about $24.8 million). To make an inquiry, contact the shipyard or fill out our contact form.
