Just as some yacht owners prefer more than one hull, some prefer multiple decks. StellarPM, the refit- and project-management team behind the StellarCat catamaran brand, has just released its first trideck design. The StellarCat AL25-3 is an entry-level aluminum megayacht boasting the volume of a much larger monohull.
Having leaped into megayacht territory with the AL25-2, a nearly 83-footer (25.12-meter) with two decks, StellarCat saw an opportunity to take the design up a notch. Chris Holmes, StellarPM’s principal and founder, explains, “the triplex layout and volume offered by the AL25-3 is more akin to what you’d expect on a 40- to 45-meter motoryacht.” For instance, the project has a 635-square-foot (59-square-meter) saloon, additionally benefitting from high overheads. Consider, too, that the beam is 38 feet (11.6 meters). The StellarCat AL25-3 offers a few semi-custom layouts as well, so those are yet additional larger-yacht benefits.

Something sure to attract buyers is the master suite. It can go on the upper deck, with a private alfresco area. As an alternate, it can sit fully forward on the main deck. However, if buyers do place it on the upper deck, this forward main-deck space can split into two VIP suites. Altogether, the StellarCat AL25-3 can have four to six staterooms, along with one or two dedicated crew cabins.
Additionally offering either an enclosed upper deck or indoor-outdoor skylounge (above), the mega catamaran can pull into shallow bays. Draft is just 4’10” (1.48 meters), meaning a wide variety of Bahamian islands and other skinny waters are yours to explore. Similarly, StellarPM had her hull designed and tested for good speeds and range. With the base twin IPS1050 propulsion package, the yacht should top out at 19 knots and see a best range of 2,400 nautical miles. With the optional twin IPS800s, meanwhile, the yacht should max out at 24 knots and see a stil-respectable 1,700-nautical-mile best range.
Still not good enough? No problem. StellarPM says increased fuel capacity for an even longer best range is possible. Whatever you ultimately choose, though, construction meets ABS standards.
