With a rose gold and grey color scheme, Shimali is one of the largest-length and largest-volume megayachts from Sunreef Yachts so far. She’s the first delivery in the 100 Sunreef Power series, a catamaran design that the shipyard sees as a successful step further into superyacht territory.
At 94 feet (28.63 meters) LOA and 44 feet (13.5 meters) wide, Shimali has a powerful stance. She’s a highly customized catamaran, too. Besides the eye-catching color scheme outside, she has further features you might not expect to see on a yacht of her size. For instance, flying bridges on megayachts in the 100-foot size range tend to be just that, flying bridges. However, Shimali has hers transform into an evening cinema, complete with a high-tech sound system to heighten the experience. Much larger megayachts have theater-like areas such as this.
Yet another area where the owners’ personal requests are evident: the main deck. While you’ll find an open-plan saloon and dining area, it further reserves port-side space for a gym. That gym is open to the rest of the relaxation zones, too. So is the galley—more of a chef’s kitchen, really, convenient for the owners or guests to serve themselves when wanted.
Although you get just a quick glance or two at that main deck in this video, Shimali does show off a clever concealed feature outside. Specifically, you get to see how her PWCs launch from their stowage area between the hulls. Sunreef’s own naval architects and engineers designed the hull shape to accommodate this, a combination of a toy garage and swim platform.
Sunreef has a second 100 Power under contract and in build. It’s among the reasons why Francis Lapp, the founder and president, sees a bright future for his company. “Today, more and more owners realize that catamarans make fantastic luxury yachts,” he asserts.
