On the same day that Lürssen celebrated its 150th anniversary, the shipyard launched its latest custom project. The aptly named yacht Deep Blue draws your attention immediately to her azure-painted superstructure, but there’s more to greet the eye.
Although the shipyard has not revealed information about her, she should be about 440 feet (134 meters) in length. Additionally, she appears to rise six decks high. The uppermost deck will be one of the best places to take in the view as the yacht eventually approaches anchorages. An alfresco area sits fully forward, simultaneously somewhat sheltered. Guests who may be inside will be able to get a better look at the surrounding scenery, too, through expanses of glass. Stepping out to the aft decks, though, will be even better, since seating areas rim them.
In keeping with a megayacht of her size, the owner has requested a helipad, specifically on the long foredeck. The yacht Deep Blue also has a few pools aboard, the largest one in prime position on the lowest aft deck.
Despite no details available about the interior, some yacht watchers anticipate a party of 24 or more may have accommodations throughout the decks. Some staterooms could very well be on the main deck, not uncommon for her dimensions, either. Just as Lürssen is keeping quiet about general facts, it hasn’t disclosed the design studios contributing to her.
Delivery should take place within the next few months. At that time, the yacht Deep Blue will become one of the largest deliveries overall, not just from the shipyard but all builders, this year.
