The largest yacht in Baglietto’s history lowered into the water on March 20. She’s the first Baglietto T60 yacht, also known by her hull number, 10260. In recognition of the importance, Italian dignitaries (below), yard employees and their families, and, of course, the owner and his family were present.
Designed to redefine open, airy living, the megayacht had the traditional bottle of champagne break across her hull before launch. Just prior to that, the celebrated tenor Amadi Lagha performed the Italian national anthem. The moment the yacht encountered the water’s surface, bright, brassy music emanated from trumpet players.

“A launch is always a moment of great emotion because it crowns years of work and marks the realization of a dream—the owner’s dream, which becomes our own,” notes Diego Michele Deprati, Baglietto’s CEO. “Today, the emotion is also fueled by the awareness of having written another milestone in the history of this glorious shipyard.”
With a volume of 1,100 gross tons, the first Baglietto T60 yacht feels airy on her main and upper decks. The full-height glass lining the saloon and sky lounge, for instance, retract. This allows the relaxation areas to be comfortably casual, with guests flowing between the areas throughout the day. Considering the beach area has a bar and seating area besides the pool, it easily serves as an extension of the saloon. It’s 646 square feet (60 square meters), too.

Other notable spaces aboard the first Baglietto T60 yacht are four guest staterooms—two VIPs and two twins—on the main deck. (The fifth and last guest staterooms is below decks.) Most noteworthy, however, the master suite is essentially a private apartment, occupying the entire upper deck. A glass elevator lets the owner access the other decks. If business needs to be done, the suite includes an office. Regardless of whether work or play is in mind, waking up is a treat, thanks to opening windows on three sides.
The celebration for the first Baglietto T60 yacht included another celebration of sorts. Children from local schools were on hand, having participated in a contest tied to the theme of the sea. The culmination of the contest is May 23, World Boating Day, with their works displayed and the winners receiving educational material vouchers. “It is to them that we must look when we speak about the future of yachting,” Deprati points out. He especially calls attention “to their ideas, their curiosity, and their ability to imagine the sea as a place of work, innovation, and beauty. Our task is not only to build ever more ambitious yachts, but also to create opportunities and skills for the new generations who will carry this tradition forward.”
