This month, Italy-based ISA celebrates its 12th anniversary, plus the opening of its first-ever North American sales office, headed by yachting industry veteran Edward Sacks. In those 12 years, ISA has delivered a wide range of custom craft, including the 197-foot (60-meter) megayacht Mary-Jean II, handed over in 2010. What makes Mary-Jean II special is how ISA embraced the particular requirements of the owners, who were well versed in the charter market yet interesting enough were building a fully custom megayacht for the first time.
There are some wonderful twists on the typical megayacht arrangement aboard Mary-Jean II, such as one more stateroom than you’d expect to find, and a comfortable, fun atmosphere thanks to the work of the owners and interior designer Mark Berryman. In fact, half the fun is walking around the teak-paneled rooms and trying to identify the spectacular artwork by Peter Blake, Andy Warhol, Lichtenstein, and others.
