Measuring 143 feet LOA, Missing Link is now in the water at Christensen Shipyards. She’s the 43-Meter Custom Series project announced in March 2012, the first of this type.
While length-wise Missing Link may not be considered a “large” megayacht to some of you, volume-wise she definitely can rival bigger boats. Her gross tonnage is 480. That should translate to some spacious accommodations, which include a full-beam skylounge and five staterooms. There’s also an elevator connecting the decks.
Missing Link bears interior design by Carol Williamson & Associates. Walnut wood paneling is complemented by deep-tone, high-gloss furnishings. Befitting a megayacht, and in similar fashion to previous Christensen deliveries, Missing Link also has stone inlays underfoot in some rooms.
A crew of eight will attend to guests aboard Missing Link upon delivery later this month. Sea trials will also take place this month. When the contract was announced in 2012, Christensen anticipated a 16-knot top speed, under twin MTU 12V 4000 diesel power.
While some skinny waters may be off limits, due to the half-load draft of 7’6” (2.28 meters), Missing Link does have a helipad for touch-and-go operations. She should also have a range of 3,500 nautical miles, putting plenty of ports within reach.
