The 174-foot (53-meter) yacht Limerence, delivered last month, turns heads on her own. When you realize what sits behind her bulwarks and beneath her decks, though, she’s all the more noteworthy. She’s a veritable toy store, carrying a complement of floating fun the likes of which some shadow boats don’t have.

Going by the code name Project Sea Club, Limerence (which recently changed her name from Kaiyo) actually began as a support-yacht concept for Alia Yachts. The shipyard and Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture developed it together, revealing details in 2021. When a buyer took interest and signed a contract, the idea evolved. In fact, the yacht Limerence is a customized re-imagination of the idea. She’s a primary yacht blending super-practical service with superyacht luxuries, while preserving the toybox ethos.

Firstly, this meant a steel hull for transatlantic and out-of-the-norm voyages. According to Alia Yachts, Limerence has a best range of 4,100 nautical miles, a top speed of 15 knots, and the systems for autonomy far from traditional ports. “A yacht of this pedigree is not destined to spend much of its life in harbor,” notes Gökhan Çelik, Alia Yachts’ president. “True to her calling,” Çelik adds, plans are set to transit the Atlantic for the Caribbean and onward to U.S. shores.

Secondly, the owner wanted some pretty specific luxuries for family and friends. Unusually, just three staterooms are onboard, including the master suite. As contemporary and comfortable as the saloon and other interior areas are, though, the alfresco spaces take priority. For instance, lounges take full advantage of fore and aft positioning for the best unobstructed views. It’s further true of the bar on the sundeck. The best views of all, however, come when the 11-person crew sets up loose furnishings on the certified helipad, an elevated portion of the upper aft deck. The same spot, by the way, can become a night club or a ball court, too, for volleyball or basketball with special security netting.

Finally, the toys. The yacht Limerence carries an Airbus helicopter, plus a Triton submarine for seven passengers to explore depths to 2,165 feet (660 meters). Alia Yachts custom built a nearly 43-foot (13-meter) guest tender, accompanying a 27-foot (8.2-meter) custom Cockwells beach-landing tender. A Ski Nautique waterskiing boat, two sailboats, and four PWCs round out the ride-on toys. Furthermore, SeaBobs, SUPs, foiling boards, jetboards, tandem kayaks, pedal boards, and waterskis await. If those don’t tickle someone’s fancy, though, then perhaps the dive gear, the inflatable beach park, and/or the inflatable obstacle course will.

Çelik sums Limerence up by saying, “She is an exceptional yacht that marries utility and luxury in a new way that doesn’t compromise either.”
