Like an actress ready for her closeup, the first hull in the Riva 112 Dolcevita Super yacht series is showing off her lines in the waters of La Spezia, Italy. Set to top out at 25½ knots and cruise at 23 knots, the megayacht is the response to requests for more space and more flexibility in arranging it.
Building upon the Riva 110 Dolcevita series, the 112 Dolcevita Super launched amid an explosion of blue confetti last week. In the process, she revealed all the design hallmarks of other Riva motoryachts. Namely, she features a flying bridge and sleek, sexy styling from Officina Italiana Design. (On a related subject, the design studio has drawn the lines of every single Riva for the past three decades.) Simultaneously, she emphasizes alfresco living and entertaining. Throughout the interior, meanwhile, high-gloss rosewood and black leather are prominent, yet another classic Riva design combination.
Being a flybridge model, this nearly 113-footer (34.37-meter) makes the uppermost deck the center of each day’s action. Owners can arrange seating or sunlounges aft however they wish, for instance, since the section is entirely for loose furniture. Riva does build in a bar and barstools beneath the shade of the hardtop. Keeping the bar area lively, a TV raises from a console. For relaxing with friends while enjoying the views, there’s a settee fully forward, benefitting underway from a windscreen. A low table accompanies the settee for drinks or snacks, too.

Not to be outdone, the beach area aboard the Riva 112 Dolcevita Super yacht series is a transformable space. Specifically, bulwarks on both sides become terraces connecting to the swim platform. The swim platform is already spacious without them, measuring 377 square feet (35 square meters). Use the platform to leap into the water, with or without the Seabobs that can stow tucked away nearby. Or, use the platform to board the tender or a PWC, both of which stow beneath the adjacent sunpad. An aft-facing settee steps off the swim platform lets parents and grandparents keep an eye on the kids while they’re in the water.
Nearly as sizable as the swim platform, the main aft deck is perfect for enjoying meals during the day. Between the combination of loose furniture and built-in settees, it’s further convenient as a shady spot to watch family playing on watertoys. But, for grown-ups who want a bit of private time, the bow is the place to be. Owners can request a hot tub to complement a big sunpad and a C-shaped settee. Of course, owners who want as much entertaining space as possible can opt for another settee instead of the hot tub.
Options continue inside, too. The owner of this first Riva 112 Dolcevita Super yacht enjoys dining while surrounded by great views. This explains why the dining area is directly inside the doors to the aft deck, followed by the saloon. Naturally, buyers can swap the arrangement, in the classic configuration. Either way, owners have a private suite fully forward. Officina Italiana Design and the Ferretti Group design teams grace it with bigger windows than the 110 Dolcevita Super had. They also provide a nicer wardrobe arrangement near the entrance. Plus, whether you want twins or double berths down below, guests should sleep well. Riva says the acoustic insulation between the guest and crew areas has improved, as has vibration and sound attenuation in flooring.
Owners who prefer making decisions about navigation and communications with their captains will be interested to learn that Riva offers three helm arrangements. Firstly, four 19-inch monitors are standard. Optionally, choose between four 26-inch displays or two massive 49-inch monitors. Speaking of options, an SCR system, to reduce nitrous-oxide emissions, is available for the MTU engine package.
You can get aboard hull number one at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, in September.
