One of the best things about the yachting lifestyle is waking up to the sun shining on the deep blue sea outside your windows. The owners of the superyacht Acqua Chiara can wake up to the sun on the deep blue inside their suite, too. Stunning glass slabs that mimic marble envelop the walls, setting a scene that is as visually stimulating as the one the yacht floats upon.
Having launched in January, the superyacht Acqua Chiara is the first Atlantique 47 from Columbus Yachts. It’s a series that blends classic sailing elements, especially the scooped stern, with modern motoryacht amenities. Folding balconies, for instance, make the already open aft deck look and feel expansive. There’s also a lot of alfresco space aft, incorporating an infinity pool, sunning areas, and an overall highly social atmosphere cascading down to mere inches from the water.

In working with the Hot Lab studio, the owners ensured that their yacht would have an equally modern yet classic mindset. Everywhere you look, time-honored materials like glass, mosaics, and metals adorn the interior. Color combinations are unequivocally classic, too. Yet, the way some of the materials come together, the superyacht Acqua Chiara asserts a forward-thinking, trendsetting poise.
The master suite, as mentioned, is perhaps one of the best examples. Vetrite polished-glass slabs in brilliant blues, greys, and black cover the entire wall behind the bed. Additionally, they frame the television on the opposite wall. Similarly, each of the four guest staterooms below decks feature Vetrite polished-glass slabs. Dark-brown leather wraps around the bed frames, too, two kings and two twins. Being the owners’ private retreat, the master suite has more noticeable burnished metal details on the bedframe and the side tables. Not to be outdone, all five staterooms’ en suite baths are showcases of painstakingly laid Sicis mosaics.
A different shade of Vetrite polished-glass lends character to the guest foyer and the wall behind the connecting stairway on the main deck. But, the pattern lends design continuity, as do burnished metal for the staircase and hammered brown leather for the handrail.
Of course, it’s sometimes important for particular rooms to have a bit of their own personality. The owners of the yacht Acqua Chiara made the saloon a soothing haven of classically nautical colors. White sponge fabric that beckons for you to softly touch it covers the custom settees. Each also has blue edges. Furthermore, the parquet soles are white, and some of the natural-oak ceiling is matte-white lacquered. Meanwhile, to port and starboard, lacquered wood with metal effects frame the full-height windows. Even a large Stopsol glass panel integrates the TV.

As much as the alfresco areas are about soaking up the sun and sea, the owners chose to bring some pops of color to unexpected areas. Guests may particularly appreciate how a large mosaic covers part of the bow. It’s in tones of blue, black, and white.
If you want to see more yourself in person, Acqua Chiara is available for charter.
