With curves and sloping styling reminiscent of classic sailing craft, the yacht Acqua Chiara has inaugurated the Columbus Atlantique 47 series. Her owners celebrated her launch and christening at the shipyard in Ancona, Italy.
Construction started on Acqua Chiara in 2021. The 154-foot (47-meter) series to which she belongs complements larger and smaller series sisters, all bearing hallmark looks from Hot Lab. The characterizing design feature is cascading levels aft, nearly right to the waterline. In fact, the owners and guests are just 20 inches (50 centimeters) from the sea when they step out onto the fixed swim platform. It’s just beyond a glass-walled pool, which in combination with the yacht’s fold-down bulwarks lend the feeling of no boundaries. The swim platform additionally has a transformer section, with steps deploying to make it easier for swimmers to climb into and out of the water.

The 499-gross-ton yacht Acqua Chiara has other alfresco areas sure to please, such as an upper-deck pool and sunning space forward. But, her 30-foot (9.1-meter) beam lends itself well to making staterooms and saloons welcoming, too. Columbus Yachts and Hot Lab created the Atlantique 47 series for a party of 10, with different interior layouts. In one, for instance, the master suite is where many customers want it, forward on the main deck. This happens to be the same choice that the owners of Acqua Chiara made. The alternate choice, though, positions the master suite aft on the upper deck. This in turn allows the forward main deck area to be a media room or extra lounge. Both layout options further offer four staterooms below decks. They’re a combination of king and twin cabins on this new launch.
Of course, customers can select the woods and other materials that suit their preferences. The owners of the yacht Acqua Chiara have created a chic, contemporary, almost city-like look and feel. Glass, mosaics in multiple colors and patterns, leather, and white and dark marble are just some of the scene-setting elements.

With a crew of eight, Acqua Chiara will see delivery by summertime. Upcoming sea trials should confirm her transatlantic range speed of 12 knots, along with a top speed of 15½ knots.
