A second galley set up for sushi. More outdoor areas for dining, cocktails, snacking, and mid-afternoon siestas. These are among the new features of the Codecasa Eileen, refitted by Lusben shipyard and FM-Architettura di Interni last summer.
Launched as Moneikos in 2000, the 163’7” (49.9-meter) Codecasa Eileen was known as Dakota when FM-Architettura di Interni was tapped for the redesign. Founded in 2009, FM-Architettura di Interni has designed luxury residences, cruise ships, and yachts. In fact, co-founders Francesca Muzio and Maria Silvia Orlandini each worked for CRN and Custom Line, seeing more than 100 megayachts take shape. In meeting with Eileen’s owner, they determined he and his family planned to make the most of alfresco enjoyment. Dining flexibility was particularly key. As a result, the main galley inside the Codecasa Eileen was redesigned with hotel-grade equipment for faster serving. The upper-deck pantry was converted into an additional galley, strictly for sushi and sashimi. An icemaker here helps keep everything fresh.
FM-Architettura di Interni devoted a lot amount of redesign attention to the sundeck, too. Lusben constructed a hardtop to replace an awning. The designers replaced small tables that the owner and his family never used—and therefore kept them from really enjoying the sundeck–with a much larger dining and serving area, plus a relaxation area. The Codecasa Eileen now has buffets, a bar, a dining table for 12, additional outboard tables for snacks or drinks, and a big settee.
FM-Architettura di Interni redid the rest of Eileen, too. The 31’2” (9.5-meter) beam was already put to good use in terms of layout. The goal was to make the atmosphere more homey. Cognac-colored leather, sand-hued suede, butter-toned fabrics, and more warm colors flow from the skylounge to the guest staterooms. Fun touches are sprinkled throughout. Pillows in guest staterooms are adorned with fish, for example. There’s also a terrific custom games table in the skylounge of the Codecasa Eileen. FM-Architettura di Interni designed it, and an Italian artisan the team selected made it. The owner and guests can play backgammon or chess.
The Codecasa Eileen was re-delivered to her owner in August.
