Megayachts visiting Pacific Ocean destinations often tap the itinerary planning and guide expertise of Small Planet Adventures. The company is now part of LaCasse Maritime, the West Coast-based yacht-support agency.
Small Planet Adventures has been customizing cruising itineraries in Alaska, Hawaii, the Northwest Passage, Mexico, Central America, and more for many years. The company counts a number of high-profile megayachts among its clientele. Last summer, for example, it assisted A while she visited Alaska. Small Planet Adventures shared the photo above of her on its Facebook page this past fall. Other yachts that have turned to Small Planet Adventures in recent seasons include Vava II, Athena, and Vibrant Curiosity.
Michael Bennett, the founder and owner of Small Planet Adventures, says his team has worked with LaCasse Maritime on a number of occasions. Having his company formally join the fold simply made sense. “We have been very impressed with their integrity and professionalism, and their desire to provide the best experience possible,” Bennett says. Rita Kapucinsky-Mosley, a co-owner of LaCasse Maritime, adds, “Now we will be able to offer visiting yachts everything they need under one roof, from gourmet provisioning and logistical and crew support to the ideal areas to spot wildlife and the best anchorages.”
Small Planet Adventures and LaCasse Maritime will continue to handle all logistics for cruising yachts. This of course extends to off-the-beaten-path locales, a specialty. It also extends to niceties like hydrophones. These underwater microphones let you hear aquatic life such as whales. The companies also will continue to use local guides and others with first-hand knowledge of every area.
Many of Small Planet Adventures’ advantages stem from Bennett’s own experience. For more than two decades, he ran boats for National Geographic magazine and film expeditions. Prior to that, he helmed expedition cruise ships around the world.
