Following new management and investments in its infrastructure, Couach is gradually revealing details about its next generation of megayachts. Twenty models spread across five ranges are in the works, most with Espen Øino International. The first of those models: the Couach 26M Timeless Collection.
The 85-foot 26M Timeless Collection is a flying-bridge design. She’s one of five total in the Timeless Collection range, which will eventually include yachts to 131 feet (40 meters). These sizes are meant to keep an intimate feel aboard, and intimate connection with the water. Øino says, “It is as exciting—if not more exciting—than designing a very large superyacht because you can personally relate better to the vessel. You can imagine yourself enjoying being onboard, including driving the yacht yourself.”
The range itself is so-named in recognition of Couach’s longtime emphasis on flying-bridge yachts. Øino’s studio incorporated some of the same lines of Couach craft, including military boats, from the 1970s through 1990s. Furthermore, the series carries on the French yard’s tradition of building swift yachts. The 26M Timeless Collection should see a 30-knot top speed with MAN engines. Cruise speed should be 23 knots.
Meant for 12 passengers and three crewmembers, the 26M Timeless Collection highlights light, bright areas. Full-height glass slides open on the main deck, for example. In addition, the bulwark cutout here enhances the views, and the sensation of space.
Couach plans to unveil the other Timeless Collection megayachts, plus those of its other series, in the coming months. The other series are the Mediterranean Collection, the Super Sport Collection, the Lounge Collection, and the Super Yacht Collection. The latter, penned by Øino’s studio, feature 131-foot-plus megayachts meant for global travel. The Mediterranean Collection includes tenders/chase boats, designed in house. The Super Sport Collection, created with Øino, has six models to 131 feet, with spirited performance and styling. The Lounge Collection, from Couach’s own Clement Carbonne, sounds leisurely. But, adventure-oriented cruisers are the target buyers. Couach calls them explorers due to their styling.
