On September 25, the day before the Monaco Yacht Show opens, superyacht representatives from the industry side and the ownership side will gather for a popular finance-focused symposium. It’s the annual Superyacht Finance Forum, hosted by Marine Money magazine.
Now in its 11th year, the Superyacht Finance Forum brings together bankers, maritime lawyers, flag-state representatives, shipyard chiefs, yacht managers, and more. The specific panel presentations as well as individual presentations vary each year. However, certain subjects are perennially important. For instance, the Superyacht Finance Forum usually provides an overview of the latest flag-state regulations as well as tax changes. Lending specialists attend each year, too, discussing new opportunities for financing, along with the tried-and-true approaches.
Because yacht expenditures reach well beyond the legal and banking worlds, the Superyacht Finance Forum strives to include presentations that touch on broader subjects of interest. Last year, for example, a panel discussed the rise in expedition cruising.
Marine Money hosts the Superyacht Finance Forum because of its background addressing the shipping industry. For well over a decade, the magazine has hosted events for ship owners, shipping firms, and related professionals. In examining the yacht market, Marine Money’s staff saw the chance to introduce similarly finance-focused conferences. None existed 11 years ago.
The 11th-annual Superyacht Finance Forum takes place at the Café de Paris in Monte-Carlo. To register, visit the dedicated Monaco forum page on Marine Money’s website. Marine Money subscribers receive a discount. So, too, do registrants who sign up a total of four delegates.
