In build at Heesen Yachts, Kometa is the largest yacht signed to date by the Dutch builder. LOA is nearly 230 feet (70 meters), but she’s more than just a mega-size megayacht. What makes Kometa impressive is her anticipated top speed of 30 knots. Furthermore, Kometa also promises 20 percent better fuel efficiency than yachts of the same size with traditional displacement hulls. It’s thanks to the proven Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) that has already been employed by the yard on other builds and additionally used in the commercial sector.
Witha 39-foot (11.9-meter) beam, Kometa has familiar Heesen family styling enhanced by Espen Øino. Note the inclusion of skylights above the pool, for example. Inside, Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design is working with the owner on a serene, soothing ambiance. Leather walls, cool blues and greens, wenge wood, and marbles set the scene aboard Kometa. From the main-deck cinema to the upper-deck VIP stateroom, there’s plenty to explore. Four double guest staterooms are below decks, while the owner’s suite, naturally, is forward on Kometa’s main deck. Don’t overlook the alfresco cinema-like upper aft deck, complete with two large TV screens. The sundeck can be an outdoor cinema, too. Then there’s the beach club, featuring a lounge with a bar, a steam room, and views straight over the water’s surface.
Kometa is anticipated for completion in 2016.
