Say goodbye to the Mangusta 130, a megayacht model introduced about a decade ago, and hello to the Mangusta 132. The Overmarine Group, Mangusta’s parent company, is offering a slightly longer yacht with an updated hull design and two helm stations.
While the Mangusta 132 will share similarities with the 130, such as an anticipated top speed around 36 knots and propulsion from twin 4,600-hp MTUs coupled to KaMeWa waterjets, she gets her hull from the Mangusta 165. That megayacht, introduced in 2012, was engineered for swift speeds, in keeping with Mangusta’s mantra, as well as at-anchor comfort stemming from zero-speed stabilizers, which are de rigeur these days. The Mangusta 132 follows suit.
In terms of the other difference the Mangusta 132 offers versus the Mangusta 130, the megayacht will come with two helms. It may not seem like such a big deal, but consider that the Mangusta 130 had just an inside station, and many captains not only like driving out in the fresh air, but are accustomed to it. It’s also nice for owners and guests who enjoy engaging with their captain and crew in different areas of the yacht. The additional helm on the Mangusta 132 (an arrangement the shipyard also has on the 165) will have two seats and be forward on the sundeck, which is enlarged for more sunning and relaxation.
Of course, the Mangusta 132 is available for customization as you see fit. Opt for five staterooms, including the master, or simply four. Select from a variety of woods, fabrics, and other finishes. Request a bimini for the foredeck seating/dining area, or keep it open. Despite the Mangusta 132 being a size that is increasingly becoming mostly production vs. custom or semi-custom, with changes limited to a small selection of decor items, this megayacht really does offer flexibility.
