Add Rossinavi to the growing list of European yacht builders targeting American megayacht buyers for the first time. It created a new series, called the Bahamas Series, specifically for this market.
The semi-custom Bahamas Series features naval architecture by Axis Group Yacht Design. The two firms previously collaborated on Numptia. Horacio Bozzo Design is handling interiors. The name of the series stems from two things. First, Rossinavi wanted to offer Americans megayachts tailor-made for Bahamian cruising. Second, the Bahamas Series incorporates “the exotic colors and relaxing shapes of the Bahamas,” according to Horacio Bozzo.
Two models are in the Bahamas Series. The larger is shown here, the Rossinavi Bahamas 158. LOA is, as the name suggests, 158 feet (48 meters). The other model is the Bahamas 130 (40 meters). Both megayachts have a draft of six feet (1.83 meters). That further makes the series well suited to other areas stateside owners like to cruise. Of course, for charter purposes, the yachts will meet MCA LY3 requirements. They will further meet the new MLC 2006 rules. The latter is a set of regulations aimed at improving crew living and working conditions on all types of vessels. It’s also known as the seafarers’ bill of rights.
Rossinavi hasn’t provided many details on the Bahamas 130, but it has for the Bahamas 158. The trideck megayacht has an infinity pool fully aft. Submersible steps off the swim platform make playtime easier for swimmers and divers. Ten guests can indulge in more dips in the flying-bridge pool. There’s a handy shower up here, too. The owners get a hot tub on their private alfresco area, forward on the upper deck. And, full-height windows on the main deck make the saloon and formal dining area brighter. Rossinavi expects the Bahamas 158 to see a 15½-knot top speed (half load) with twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines. And, the builder says she’ll have transpacific range. (Yes, “transpacific.” The Pacific Ocean is the world’s largest body of water.)
As mentioned above, both yachts in the Rossinavi Bahamas Series are semi-custom. They offer owners a choice of three interior styles. The styles are named Coloniale, Classico, and Moderno, meaning Colonial, Classic, and Modern.
Rossinavi says that the Bahamas Series will also embrace “green” technology. The last several launches all were classed to RINA Green Plus standards.
