A European buyer is a few weeks away from taking delivery of the newest Baglietto 46-meter (151-footer). For now the megayacht is being referred to simply as Hull 217.
Launched yesterday, Hull 217 is a displacement design from the drawing boards of Francesco Paszkowski. In fact, she’s the second in a new 46-meter displacement series overall, created with Paszkowski’s studio. The first project in the series debuted at last fall’s boat shows. Both Hull 217 and her predecessor feature aluminum superstructures and steel hulls.
Even though she’s part of the series, Hull 217 is, of course, customized to some degree. She has a grey hull complementing a white superstructure, versus the all-white appearance of the first hull. Baglietto has not revealed how the owner has requested the interior to be arranged. Nor has it divulged what decor materials are being used. For now, the shipyard says that Francesco Paszkowski collaborated with Margherita Casprini for the interior design. If Hull 217 is at all similar to the first series launch, she’ll have accommodations for 10 in the owner’s party. She should also have a nice-size beach club.
Performance-wise, Hull 217 might also follow the precedent set by the first delivery in the series. That project sees a reported 12-knot cruise and 17-knot top end under Caterpillar power. Transatlantic range should also be possible, in keeping with tradition.
In the meantime, Baglietto continues to build another displacement-series model, measuring 180 feet (55 meters). She shares styling cues with her smaller sisters. The Italian yard also has a handful of planing-yacht designs, including one set for launch in July. That yacht measures 141 feet (43 meters) and should debut at the fall boat shows. She’ll be followed by a 151-foot planing yacht late this year.
