Come July, Codecasa plans to hand over the first Codecasa 50 Vintage Series. She’s being christened Gazzella. Previously, the yacht was known as Project Falcon, or C121, the hull number.
At nearly 164 feet (about 49.9 meters), Gazzella embraces the classic styling that the overall Vintage Series reflects. That styling is from Codecasa’s in-house team. It’s complemented by an equally traditional mahogany interior, as see above and below. Mahogany is even used for furnishings like the dining table, which is further inlaid with maple. The owner of Gazzella selected marble and onyx flooring as well as luxe fabrics and other materials to complete the look. Multiple marbles lie underfoot in the main-deck foyer, for example. It also adorns the tops of the bar in the skylounge. The walls of the stairway feature mother of pearl and gold leaf. The rendering below gives you a good idea of the effect.
Bearing a 33’5” (10.2-meter) beam, Gazzella also has an elevator servicing all decks, including the sundeck. This makes it easy for the eight guests accommodated on the lower deck to get to the skylounge, for example, where there’s a cozy breakfast spot. The owner and VIP suite guests have a shorter trip, from the main deck. They can all further enjoy drinks or watching movies on the 65-inch television here.
Gazzella carries a crew of 11 plus the captain. They’ll have access to various stowage areas, including walk-in refrigerators, on a level beneath the lower deck.
Sea trials have not yet been conducted. However, Codecasa anticipates a light-displacement top end of 17½ knots. (Full-load displacement should be about 690 tons.) The twin 2,365-hp Caterpillars should also permit a best range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Wherever she goes, Gazzella will have a variety of toys at guests’ disposal. They include a Castoldi jet tender.
