The latest Vintage Series superyacht from Codecasa is a few short months away from delivery. Hull C122, a 141-footer (43-meter), made her way into the water last weekend, while the craftspeople who built her looked on, along with their families. So, too, did her owner: Pier Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian media entrepreneur. While the shipyard has not mentioned him, a few Italian media published photos and videos of him in attendance.
The launch and christening marked the latest yacht to join the successful series. Codecasa calls it the Vintage Series, since the lines are more traditional. So, too, the interiors tend to be classic. C122 is, specifically, a Codecasa 43 FB Vintage Series megayacht. “FB” means “Full Beam.” It refers to the configuration of the master suite, forward on the main deck. Considering the beam is 29’5” (9 meters), the sensation of space is welcome.
Codecasa provided a sneak peek at the interior of this 43 Vintage Series last spring. The project began on spec, later selling to what Codecasa terms a leasing company. Pale wood flooring flows from the saloon through to the master suite. It further highlights the four guest staterooms below decks—two doubles and two twins, with one of the twins having a Pullman berth. Details like crown moldings and tufted headboards appear throughout C122, too. Codecasa’s in-house team is responsible for interior design, along with styling and naval architecture.
Since the yacht is a displacement design, expect C122 to see 16½ knots under light load as the maximum speed. The twin 1,650-hp Caterpillar engines should also permit a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. Even with the steel displacement hull, the megayacht should be capable of cruising to some shallower regions. Draft is 8’5” (2.6 meters). A crew of eight will steer her to these shores.
If you’re attending the Versilia Yachting Rendez-Vous in Viareggio, Italy in May, there’s a chance you might see C122. Codecasa says that if systems’ tests and finishing work goes according to schedule, it will showcase her there.
