If you or your crew have an eye for details, YPI wants to know. Actually, it wants to see those details. The brokerage and charter company has kicked off its first-ever YPI Photo of the Year competition.
Why? Megayacht owners, guests, crew, and industry representatives often say life at sea is exceptional. Certainly, resorts are beautiful, and mountaintops can be breathtaking. But cruising amid fjords, or diving with abundant colorful fish? Crossing the open ocean, with dolphins swimming alongside? Dining under the stars just offshore, city lights twinkling in the distance? Those are beyond compare. As the YPI Photo of the Year contest page states, “The world’s oceans offer experiences and insights for families and friends that are truly unique.”
The theme of the YPI Photo of the Year competition is, therefore, “Quality Time at Sea.” Maybe you have pictures of your kids’ first time on a towable tube, or waterskis. Maybe you took a spectacular sunset shot. Maybe you even have an arty shot of your yacht’s bow, taken from the water. These and more all qualify for entry.
The YPI Photo of the Year competition features four categories. Specifically, they are Art/Abstract, Fun/Lifestyle, Action/Adventure, and Nature/Landscape. Submitting more than one photo per category is permitted. However, you can upload a maximum total of four pictures. All pictures must be from 2016, too. Deadline for entering: September 4.
As part of the judging process, professional photographers will review all entries. Winners get a variety of prizes, like cameras and champagne. Plus, each YPI Photo of the Year category-winning picture gets published in YPI’s 360° magazine come spring 2017.
If you’re a social media user, you can vote, too. YPI will announce each YPI Photo of the Year category winner on its website and its Twitter account on September 21. One random Twitter voter will win a prize.
Entries close September 4. Read the official rules, and upload your submissions for the competition, on the company’s website.
