What’s old is new again these days, especially when it comes to runabouts and tenders. You need only see the retro Rivas and classic Chris-Crafts carried aboard some of the world’s most famous megayachts. Other yachts are toting new tenders that happen to look like ones from days gone by.
British Columbia-based Kazulin Boats is among the companies offering tenders in the latter category, but with a difference. Its team actually remembers when “old” was “now.” In fact, the Kazulin family can count back seven generations of designing and building boats, to their origins in Croatia. They settled in their current home in Canada about three decades ago, and Kazulin Boats began exporting to the USA and Europe in 1989. Each offering is designed and built in house; even all the deck hardware is designed by its team.
While Kazulin Boats does manufacture mahogany runabouts (labeled the Adriatic line), its latest model, the SportRunner 25, mimics the look and feel in fiberglass. She’s no less lovely to look at, as the photos here show. Take a peek at the cockpit, ringed with seating, and it’s easy to imagine heading out at sunset for a cocktail cruise or having the crew shuttle upwards of seven guests to and from shore in style. If anyone fancies a dip instead, the swim platform is directly accessible from the cockpit and sunpad.
The upholstery, hull color, and cockpit layout of this 24-footer (7.3-meter) are all open to owner input, as is the power package. Equipped with either a single gasoline- or diesel-powered engine, however, the SportRunner 25 should be capable of a top speed exceeding 60 mph and a cruise speed in the 30-mph range.
Pricing for the SportRunner 25 starts at $98,500.
