Having prioritized modern-styled globetrotters for many years, Numarine is doing something different. As a result of both market observation and its own motivation, the Numarine Classic line is joining its semi-custom family of superyachts. With two models so far, the series combines looks reminiscent of an earlier era that still have staying power. Simultaneously, the Classic line relies on the foundations of the long-range naval engineering of all Numarine deliveries to date.
Specifically, the first two models are the Numarine 38XPC yacht (above) and Numarine 39MXPC yacht (below). Those already familiar with the Turkey-based builders projects will recognize the XP and MXP designations. “XP” signifies “Explorer,” while “MXP” means “Mediterranean Explorer,” the latter featuring more of the in-demand lifestyle amenities that yacht owners and guests want.

Numarine’s management team and Can Yalman, its longtime stylist, devised the series. According to Yalman, “After years of working on highly optimized, contemporary explorer yachts, there was a desire to reconnect with more timeless principles of naval design.” Additionally, “we sensed a growing desire for this direction, perhaps a need for a more reflective, balanced approach to yachting.” In fact, he says, it seemed clients were gravitating toward “a more timeless, almost romantic idea of life at sea.”
Rather than mimic the lines of a bygone era, the Numarine Classic line pays homage to the “values which have defined great yachts for generations,” he continues. Namely, Yalman says, these are proper proportion, clearly defined function, and elegance rather than excess.

To show clients the possibilities for the interiors, Numarine has teamed with Hot Lab. The design studio embraces timeless appeal from the saloon through to the staterooms. The Numarine 38XPC yacht especially reflects this, drawing inspiration from gentleman’s yachts. There’s a strong sense of classicism and connection to tradition. Meanwhile, the Numarine 39MXPC yacht still looks timeless, yet provides owners and their guests with a coveted open-air beach area. Furthermore, it includes a large hot tub aft, both echoing the Mediterranean lifestyle that lends the MXP series its name.
“This Classic line represents a natural and strategic evolution for Numarine,” notes Patrik von Sydow, its CEO. “It allows us to broaden our design language and reach a wider audience while staying true to the core principles that define the brand.” He also notes, “In an industry often driven by fast-changing trends, the Classic line offers a more enduring perspective.”

Speaking of enduring, both models should be able to put significant nautical miles under their hulls. The anticipated best range for the 125-foot (38-meter) Numarine 38XPC yacht and the 128-foot (39-meter) Numarine 39MXPC yacht aren’t yet available. However, both feature naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini, who’s responsible for the builder’s other autonomous offerings. Given the XP and MXP designations, too, the hull designs are similar to those models. For comparison, the close-in-size Numarine 37XP yacht, which has seen multiple deliveries, has a range of 6,000 miles at 8 knots.
The builder is continuing to review options for the Numarine 38XPC yacht and Numarine 39MXPC yacht with clients. It hasn’t revealed whether it will consider starting either or both megayachts on spec.
