Following the sale of several E88 Skylounge megayachts over the past five years, Horizon Yachts has done what its clients have come to expect: create a more alfresco-oriented model, based largely on their feedback. Naturally, she’s called the E88 Open Flybridge. Hull number one is heading for U.S. shores, too, for debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (a.k.a. FLIBS).
In fact, this first E88 Open Flybridge was created with American customers in mind. The Horizon Yacht USA team worked with the shipyard’s in-house naval architecture and interior design departments to outfit her accordingly. You’ll find walnut soles and teak bulkheads paired with primarily neutral colors for what Horizon calls a modern coastal decor. Marble soles lend a little more luxury at the entrance to the saloon from the aft deck, plus the galley. Horizon also made the leather and teak coffee table in the saloon and holly-inlaid teak dining table.
Speaking of dining, there’s no shortage of space to enjoy meals aboard. The E88 Open Flybridge has a formal dining area plus a country kitchen, in addition to three alfresco areas. There’s the traditional aft-deck dining table, plus a flybridge dining area, the latter with a split table opposite a bar. The third E88 Open Flybridge outdoor dining spot is a cozy, U-shape arrangement at the bow. You can go from snacking to sunning with ease here, too, thanks to sunpads just forward.
Due to the above-mentioned country kitchen, the E88 Open Flybridge places all staterooms below decks. The master spans the full 21-foot (6.4-meter) beam down here. It’s denoted by the H-shape port you see in the profile above, a new styling element for Horizon, and accompanied by a VIP and two twins. All crew are below decks, too, with direct access to their quarters from a staircase aft to port in the saloon. The E88 Open Flybridge also provides them with a stairway up to the flybridge directly inside the galley—plus a mini helm by the country kitchen if weather precludes maneuvers from up top.
Here’s a peek at a few more amenities.
