The largest Hakvoort to date, Just J’s, has been handed over.
The 200-foot (61-meter) megayacht isn’t just the biggest boat the Dutch builder ever created. Just J’s is so big that she barely fit inside the main construction shed. This same shed was extended four years ago to 213 feet (65 meters). The top deck of Just J’s—she rises five high—was mere feet from the roof of the shed. The roof even had to be lifted to accommodate the installation of the megayacht’s elevator. It was lowered straight down the shaft.
The five decks of Just J’s feature the owners’ imprint everywhere you look. They collaborated closely with Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, giving each deck its own personality. So, for example, the atmosphere on the main deck is quite proper, even grand. Rich blue and metallic silver tones flow throughout it. The VIP stateroom and four additional guest staterooms (out of six) are on the main deck, too. Imagine the views they’ll have when Just J’s is underway. The owners, of course, enjoy terrific views, too, one deck up. “Up” is the operative word: A glass dome is above their bed.
As formal as the main deck is, the skylounge is the opposite. It’s casual, family-friendly, and situated a level higher than the owners’ deck. Big couches everyone can sink into characterize the skylounge. The family can grab some popcorn and head on in to the cinema, too. Bolder colors of aqua and green-blue adorn this level. So do vistas, particularly benefitting the wheelhouse.
The owners of Just J’s didn’t forget about their crew. The 16-person-strong staff are special to the owners, in fact. They ensured passageways flowed properly, and the galley, separate crew mess, and crew’s quarters were all practical and comfortable.
We’ll have full photos of Just J’s in a few months. Wait ‘til you see the mosaic tiles of the sundeck pool. They’re fashioned into fish and other fun Caribbean-inspired elements.
In the meantime, Just J’s won’t remain the largest Hakvoort for long. The yard’s next launch is even bigger… stay tuned.
