“We are honored to create a new, beautiful design for a client that showed us his love from our very first meeting five years ago,” says Giorgio M. Cassetta. The Italian designer is looking forward to collaborating with the owner of the yacht Project Iron Man for a few reasons. Notably, it will be the second time they put their creative heads together for a megayacht.
In fact, it will be the second time that the owner is commissioning a megayacht from Benetti, too. Neither the shipyard nor the designer is revealing the first yacht’s name or LOA. Regardless, the yacht Project Iron Man is a step up in size, a 262-footer (80-meter). Additionally, she will be entirely custom.
No other information is available about the new yacht, either, unfortunately, other than she’s for cruising with a multi-generational family. They’ll have some pretty ample alfresco areas to enjoy. Daniela Petrozzi, Benetti’s sales director, does hint, though, at what’s to come. “It marks a significant milestone both for the owner, who is a treasured loyal customer, and for us as a shipyard,” Petrozzi says.
For now, Cassetta notes that the working relationship with the owner the first time around was quite good. The designer isn’t surprised that he’s having the same experience now, either. “The great attention that he and his family dedicated to the definition of the design will be instrumental to the creation of a new masterpiece,” he asserts.
Once construction begins, she’ll join the likes of projects such as Benetti FB289, a 220-footer (67-meter) set for delivery in 2026. The yacht Project Iron Man should be delivered toward late 2028.
