When describing the interior of Florentia, recently delivered by Rossinavi, Carlo Colombo of A++ Design puts it this way. “Florentia’s interior design is inspired by the shapes of nature and ocean waves combined with technology and continuous research of design functionality.” He continues, adding, “The soft lines of the boat’s architecture style pervade the space,” creating a “refined yacht” as well as “a peaceful and relaxing experience.” Come aboard for a virtual tour.
Launched in June, the 170’6” (52-meter) motoryacht is for an owner who wanted “a timeless gem,” according to Stefano Vafiadis of Studio Vafiadis, responsible for the profile. Simultaneously, the owner wanted a megayacht “where classic features and shapes meet modern details.” The designers combined a generous amount of curves and arches, yet without them being too showy or trendy.
Speaking of curves, and natural shapes, the central stairway aboard Florentia is the ideal example of the owner’s design wishes. Spiraling up through the decks, it additionally has a spiraling handrail. A++ Design used these curves to thematically connect all of the areas aboard to one another. Additionally, it used the warm, light tones of the leathers, woods, and other luxury materials you see here throughout the rest of the yacht.
A good example is the owner’s suite, forward on the main deck. You see it in the round artwork above the bed, mirrored to reflect the sunlight streaming in, whether from the windows or the balcony. You further see it in the curvaceous nature of the leather headboard and even the details underfoot. Those details, by the way, lead the eyes—and the feet—to the en suite bath.
The owner and 11 additional friends and family have similarly warm and welcoming staterooms, along with lounges to enjoy. In fact, the upper-deck saloon (in proximity to a VIP stateroom, by the way) serves as a cinema some days and a happy hour lounge on others. Both a double-sided settee and 7’7” (2.35 meters) of headroom make it a magnet for those seeking relaxation.
The biggest beneficiaries of Florentia’s approach to design and leisure, however, are the guests getting the upper-deck stateroom. As lovely as the master suite is, this VIP has an arguably more special feature: alfresco deck access. Between a hot tub and a balcony, it’s sure to make the guests feel Very Important indeed.
Expect Florentia, with a 33’10” (10.35-meter) beam, to top out at a reported 17 knots. Should the owner wish to explore more of the world, he can, given a reported range of 6,500 nautical miles.
